Arcus senilis, also known as corneal arcus, is a white, light grey or blueish arc or circle that develops around the edge of the cornea. Note that some babies may have a bluish ring around their iris, but this is due to a thin sclera and will disappear as they age. However, treatment for arcus senilis is not necessary.
